About Donna Lacka Artist
Donna is a Hamilton (Ontario) local award winning mixed media artist and published art journalist.
Her work in/with acrylics, watercolors, pastels and alcohol ink has enabled her to compete and be successful in having her art exhibited locally and in the Niagara on the Lake area and her journal art work published in international art journaling magazines. It has been a long journey but very rewarding
Donna will tell you that although it is a rewarding journey, she beats to no drummer, follows not particular genre or known artist but rather prefers to use her own imagination in creating her work.
THE COTTON FACTORY
Dyeworks Building
My studio is located at The Cotton Factory in the Dyeworks Building a lovely 121 year old building built in 1900. It is an old restored bricks and mortar building in the industrial part of Hamilton, Ontario
My gallery consists of a variety of mixed media art including framed and unframed large art pieces, alcohol ink art, and sea glass.

ABOUT ME
The Background
This space is a great opportunity for me to give you more of a full background about who I am , what I do , and what this site has to offer.
I am an artist who came into my artistic being late in life after I had retired from a very successful career in the corporate world. I have had no formal in class art training other then the various classes and workshops I have taken since then.
Because my interests are all over the map I do more than one thing. I do not have a mentor. I paint in mixed media acrylics, watercolour, and use alcohol ink my current passion in various ways and on many things. I work with sea glass creating small sea glass art. I am also a twice published art journaling journalist with articles appearing in "ArtJournalling" a national magazine. This site will hopefully allow you to see the varied interests I have and what I have to offer. As this is always ever changing check in from time to time to see what new interest I have taken up.
On a personal note I am a mother of two grown daughters Tracey and Laura and her husband Phil. I am a grandmother to two wonderful children Stella and Dean who all live in nearby Burlington. I live with my partner Mike in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
I had a very successful one person show of my own the summer of 2019 at the library in Niagara on the Lake. (picture below)
During the winter months I sell my art at Coquina Beach in Sarasota, Florida.
